The Onion Video

By making this satire, the Onion makes fun of both sides: the gun rights advocates, and the legislature creating the laws surrounding them. They are saying that both sides are in the wrong. The NRA wants guns just for the sense of freedom, ignoring the fact that they cause harm and that more guns for "self-defense" will only make that worse. The legislature is trying to fix the issues but is doing all the wrong things to achieve them. The change that the Onion desires is for both sides to work for a consensus instead of pointlessly fighting each other, as do the Grangerfords and Shepherdsons.
